Kennedy on Fox News: It's the 4th anniversary of the biggest lie the Biden-Harris administration ever told. It's only gotten worse.

“President Biden and Vice President Harris argue that they are just trying to protect democracy. Yet they have done all they can to prevent citizens from hearing the truth about their administration. That itself is anti-democratic. And it is immoral.”

MADISONVILLE, La. – Sen. John Kennedy (R-La.) penned this op-ed for Fox News detailing how the Biden-Harris administration has lied to the American people in the four years since Hunter Biden’s laptop first surfaced. Kennedy argued that the Biden-Harris administration’s continued effort to censor the American people is anti-democratic and immoral.

Key excerpts of the op-ed are below:

“President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris have a casual relationship with the truth. They told us that they aren’t trying to ban gas stoves, that our president’s abilities aren’t in decline, and that the border isn’t open. They called these conspiracy theories. It appears we are going to have to get some new conspiracy theories because all the old ones turned out to be true.

“Monday marks the fourth anniversary of the biggest lie the Biden-Harris administration told: that Mr. Hunter Biden’s laptop was not real.”

. . .

“It’s three weeks until the election. While some seem to have learned, the Biden-Harris administration has only doubled down.”

. . .

“Democracy only works when we can say what we believe. You are not free if you cannot say what you think. And no one can cast an informed vote when those in power censor relevant information. The American people know that the best way to correct misinformation is with more and better information, not censorship.

“President Biden and Vice President Harris argue that they are just trying to protect democracy. Yet they have done all they can to prevent citizens from hearing the truth about their administration. That itself is anti-democratic. And it is immoral.”

OPINION: Biden’s Cancer Moonshot is Laudable

President Joe Biden’s recent visit to New Orleans highlighted his Cancer Moonshot initiative which aims to cut cancer death rates in half by 2047.

The President’s goal is laudable, but meeting it will require greater leadership from this Administration and the next one in embracing new strategies to further reduce cigarette smoking, which is still responsible for nine out of 10 of all lung cancer deaths.

First, the Administration must act to clear the current backlog of millions of reduced-risk, smoke-free products awaiting authorization from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

Second, the Administration’s health experts must do a better job of communicating with the public and medical professionals about the misperceptions surrounding these products, which have been scientifically shown to be a significantly better option than combustible cigarettes.

The good news is that youth smoking is at an all-time low and cigarette smoking among adults has declined substantially over the past twenty years. One reason for this decline is the availability of tobacco harm reduction products, such as pouches and other smoke-free alternatives. The government should be making it easier, not more difficult, for smokers to access these products.

If President Biden and his successor are serious about their cancer moonshot, these small steps would represent a giant leap in the right direction.

TRUMP MOMENTUM

“Trump Widens Lead After Biden’s Debate Debacle” read The New York Times headline, and the headline was right (a welcome change from The New York Times)!

In fact, a series of polls show President Trump with a commanding lead over Joe Biden and any Democrat that may take his place. The Democrats are even in a place where they are bragging about polls showing them losing. As we mentioned earlier this week, President Trump is playing offense all over the electoral map. This isn’t just about Crooked Joe Biden. The Democrats have failed our country, and in November, Americans will hold them responsible at the ballot box.

Debate Domination

It wasn’t even close. President Donald Trump won the debate in a landslide! Even CNN’s instant poll gave President Trump the resounding victory, and it’s not hard to see why. President Trump offered a clear vision for our country of a booming economy, a secure border, and peace through strength.

  • President Trump delivered the greatest debate performance in history to the largest voter audience in history, while Joe Biden was too incompetent to defend his record on inflation and the invasion at the border.

  • The contrast was clear: President Trump made the case for how he can improve the lives of every American, while Joe Biden lied, invented stories, and couldn't articulate a single plan to make things less expensive or secure our southern border.

  • Biden should not receive a participation trophy for standing upright for 90 minutes.

  • He should be fired for being unable to explain why he's ruined our country.

  • Joe Biden had no excuses for his disastrous performance.

  • He took a weeklong vacation at Camp David - all while ISIS terrorists run loose in the United States - and Biden still didn't have any answers.

  • The question isn't whether Joe Biden can make it through the next 4 years - it's whether Joe can make it to the election.

  • If we want to save America, if we want to make life better for the American people, if we want to bring back the American Dream, we need to Fire Joe Biden and Hire President Donald J. Trump.

  • Everything is more expensive under Joe Biden:

    • Mortgages are up 90%.

    • Gasoline is up 50%.

    • Bread is up 41%.

    • Eggs are up 40%.

    • Baby food is up 28%.

  • Joe Biden has caused Americans to lose $28,000 per household in inflation costs.

  • Inflation was up 1.4% when President Trump left office.

    • Cumulative inflation is up 20% under Joe Biden.

  • Joe Biden is running a $2 trillion federal budget deficit this year.

  • The unprecedented crisis at the border is due to Joe Biden.

    • Joe Biden has allowed 10 million illegal migrants to cross the southern border.

      • There are now over 150k missing migrant children in the United States.

      • There are ISIS terrorists at large in the United States.

      • There is a 43% increase in violent crime victims under Biden, much due to the Biden Migrant Crime Wave sweeping across our country.

  • Biden’s weak leadership has emboldened America’s adversaries.

    • 13 service members died because of Joe Biden's incompetence during the disastrous withdrawal of Afghanistan.

    • Hamas launched an assault against our greatest ally in the Middle East – Israel.

    • Russia has started war in Ukraine and Biden has failed to stand up to Putin.

    • President Trump will safeguard America and preserve peace through strength.

    • President Trump was the first American leader since Ronald Reagan not to start a war.

  • Don’t forget - 10% for "The Big Guy.”

Bottom Line: Joe Biden further embarrassed the United States with last night’s debate performance, and he is too weak to serve as Commander in Chief. The contrast between President Trump and Biden is clear—it's time to retire Joe Biden once and for all and allow President Trump to Make America Great Again.

Killers Continue To Abuse Biden’s Open Border Policies

Joe Biden’s open border policies have led to innocent Americans being raped and slaughtered, yet Biden still refuses to secure the border.

What you need to know:

  • 170,000-plus illegal immigrants were encountered attempting to cross the U.S.-Mexico border in May.

    • That’s approximately 5,500 illegal aliens crossing the border every single day.

    • That’s a 185% increase from the average number of May apprehensions during the Trump administration.

    1. 8,642 unaccompanied children were encountered.

    2. 82,189 illegal immigrants were encountered from countries outside the Northern Triangle and Mexico, showing that Biden's crisis is global.

    3. At least 90 people on the terror watchlist have been encountered trying to enter the U.S. between ports of entry this fiscal year.

  • Biden’s fake executive order has done absolutely nothing to secure the border.

  • The blood is on his hands as U.S. citizens are raped and murdered by illegal aliens who have no legal right to be in the country.

  • Now, Biden is doubling down on his orchestrated invasion by offering mass amnesty to a million illegals already in the country — putting them, and their families, on the fast-track for citizenship and the public benefits that come with it.

  • Biden doesn’t care about the American lives that will forever be destroyed by the illegal criminals he is importing.

  • He also doesn’t care that law-abiding taxpayers, crushed by inflation, are forced to pay for free food, housing, and healthcare for illegals.

  • It doesn’t have to be this way.

Bottom Line: Biden’s open border policies aren't compassionate; they are deadly. On day one, President Trump will seal the border and begin the largest domestic deportation operation in American history.

Let's Get Ready To Rumble

“The media wants to lower Joe Biden’s debate performance bar so low he gets a participation trophy simply for standing upright for 90 minutes, but make no doubt about it - Biden will be highly prepared and alert on debate night, relying on the same perfectly calibrated dosage used to deliver his widely praised 2024 State of the Union Address or his 2012 thrashing of Paul Ryan in the VP debate.

“The true benchmark for Thursday’s debate should be whether or not Joe Biden can defend his disastrous record on inflation and the out-of-control border invasion versus President Trump’s unquestioned first-term record of success, and if Biden can speak for himself without the overt participation and interference of two CNN moderators.

“If given a fair opportunity to present his vision for America, President Trump will lay out exactly how he plans to improve the lives of every American suffering from everything becoming too expensive and every community being turned into a border community thanks to Joe Biden’s incompetence.” — Steven Cheung

What you need to know:

Bottom Line: Americans, get your popcorn ready. The time has finally come for Joe Biden to defend his awful record and destructive agenda.

Terror From The Border

More unvetted aliens from third-world countries continue to pour into our communities. This is the direct result of Biden’s border bloodbath.

  • In a horrifying new report, we learned that eight suspected ISIS-K terrorists were released into the U.S. by the Biden administration after they illegally crossed the southern border earlier this year.

  • We know that more terror suspects than ever are crossing the border illegally into the United States.

    • A few weeks ago, we learned that a suspected ISIS terrorist from Uzbekistan was allowed to live freely in the U.S. for nearly two years after being released by the Biden administration after illegally crossing the border.

  • Per reports, the eight suspects had received “full vetting” before being released.

  • This shows how nonsense the term “full vetting” is when it comes to the border crisis.

  • Reminder: It is impossible to vet the hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens Biden is allowing into the country because the ability to vet them does not exist.

    • Every time Biden and his administration claim there is an effective vetting process of the illegal aliens he is releasing into the country, they are flat-out lying.

    • There is little to no cooperation from many countries around the world.

    • There is no database to cross reference, no documents to consider – and that’s assuming those records would even be adequate if they were shared.

  • In fact, the inability to vet illegal aliens has allowed the vicious transnational criminal gang Tren de Aragua to infiltrate the United States, according to a new report from CNN.

    • Tren de Aragua — a brutal, ruthless Venezuelan gang — has been terrorizing Latin America for years.

    • Now, they've infiltrated the U.S. via Biden’s open border and they're coming to a city near you.

  • Every day, American citizens are paying the price for the resulting Border Bloodbath.

Bottom Line: For the sake of our nation’s security and the preservation of democracy for future generations, America needs President Trump back in the White House.

Biden’s Border Disorder

Joe Biden’s executive order doesn’t secure the border. It codifies the invasion – an invasion he aided and abetted from the start.

  • Crooked Joe Biden couldn’t care less about the illegal immigrant invasion in our country.

  • Nothing he announced this week will “shut down” the border or “limit” asylum claims.

  • He did the opposite, in fact — by establishing a weekly minimum number of illegal aliens allowed into the country and expanding eligibility for his fraudulent asylum scheme.

  • In short, Biden is trying to make the border invasion permanent.

  • Biden’s new order will fast-pass the entry of even more illegal aliens into the country by simply routing them to ports of entry — where they’ll be processed and released into the country to await adjudication years from now.

  • It’s yet another expansion of illegal immigration under Biden, who has already offered mass amnesty to hundreds of thousands of inadmissible aliens.

  • Biden's failed policies created the crisis at the border, and this new executive order is too little too late.

    • In Biden's first 100 days, he took more than 94 executive actions on immigration, including halting construction of the border wall and ending the successful "Remain in Mexico" policy.

    • By his three-year mark, Biden had taken 535 executive actions related to immigration.

    • Biden’s new FY 2025 budget proposal calls for eliminating $50 million in border wall funding.

    • Illegal immigrants have confirmed this: "The border is open…everybody believes that the border is open. It's open because we enter. We come in, free, no problem…We came illegally."

  • More than 9.6 million illegal immigrants have crossed the border since Biden took office.

    • For 38 straight months, monthly encounters have been higher than even the highest month seen under the previous administration.

    • April’s 179,000-plus encounters is a 272% increase from the average number of April apprehensions during the Trump administration.

    • On day one, President Trump will seal the border, stop the invasion, and send Joe Biden’s illegal aliens back home.

  • Despite Biden's promise of a "fair and humane immigration system," his open border policies aren't compassionate; they are deadly.

  • Biden could actually shut down the border any time he wanted.

  • But all today’s action will do is bring more unvetted aliens from third-world countries directly into our communities.

  • The only way to end the bloodbath is to re-elect President Trump in November.

Bottom Line: How loud does the terror-threat alarm need to sound before Joe Biden reimplements President Trump’s policies? America needs President Trump back in office.

Biden Price Hikes Strike Again – How Much More?

Americans seeking relief from sky-high prices under Crooked Joe Biden will be sorely disappointed. Prices are up 20% under Joe Biden.

  • May’s Consumer Price Index increased by 3.3% compared to last year – twice the rate compared to when Biden took office.

  • Inflation has been at or above 3% for 38 straight months, the longest period of high inflation since the late 1980s and well above the Fed's average target of 2%.

  • Since Biden took office:

    • Gasoline is up 54.8%;

    • Margarine is up 51.9%;

    • Motor vehicle insurance is up 51.7%;

    • Energy costs are up 41.3%;

    • Motor vehicle repair costs are up 40.6%;

    • Eggs are up 40.1%;

    • Airline fares are up 39.9%;

  • Overall prices have risen by 20.1% since Biden took office – with Americans still reeling from the lasting effects of inflation.

    • On a year-over-year basis, inflation under Biden has averaged 5.4% – roughly double the level of inflation seen under any of the last four presidents.

  • Hardworking Americans are struggling to survive financially as Bidenomics continues to drain their wallets.

    • Nearly half of Americans consider themselves “broke.”

    • 66% of Americans worry about covering one month of expenses if they lose their job.

    • 58% of registered voters report living paycheck-to-paycheck.

    • The personal savings rate was 3.6% in April, well below a decades long average of roughly 8.9%.

  • Americans’ earnings have taken a massive hit.

    • Americans have seen a 3.9% pay cut under Biden.

    • Under President Trump, real average weekly wages rose 8.2%.

  • American families are seeing higher prices for virtually everything, and they know exactly who to blame: Biden and Democrats.

    • 92% of registered voters are concerned about inflation.

    • 60% of Americans disapprove of the way Biden is handling inflation and 52% disapprove of Biden’s handling of jobs and the economy.

    • 60% of Americans believe the economy is on the wrong track, 58% think the economy is weak, and 48% say their current personal economic situation is getting worse.

    • 71% of voters believe economic conditions are worsening and 49% said they thought Biden made things worse with his economic policies.

    • 70% of voters have a negative view of the economy and 55% of voters trust President Trump to better manage the economy.

Bottom Line: Americans simply cannot keep up with the cost of nearly everything in Joe Biden’s presidency. It’s called “Bidenomics.”

Kennedy details lasting toll of Bidenflation on Louisianians: “It hurts deeply”

“[Inflation] hurts, and it hurts deeply. . . . And the worst part of this is that President Biden has no plan to get it down. None.”

Watch Kennedy’s comments here.

WASHINGTON – Sen. John Kennedy (R-La.) spoke on the Senate floor to explain how persistent inflation has depleted personal savings accounts and driven many Louisianians into credit card debt. Kennedy noted that inflation has cost the average Louisiana family $22,166 since President Biden took office.

Key comments from Kennedy’s remarks include:

“I realize there is a yawning disconnect between what President Biden says and what my people in Louisiana are experiencing. There is. President Biden says that the economy is just fine. He says the economy is just wonderful. And I’ll tell you what my people say. My people say, ‘With respect, Mr. President, you need to put down the bong because, in our state, we are paying more to live worse. And we're not going to be able to retire because of you, Mr. President, until four years after we’re dead.’”

. . .

“Our median household income is about $58,000. That's mom and dad both working. Two children. $58,000. It's about $4,800 a month. President Biden's inflation is costing my people an extra $900 a month. That's not a year. $900 a month. $11,000 a year. My average family's making, once again, $58,000 a year. They've got to find, all of a sudden, an extra $11,000 a year. Since President Biden has been president, his inflation has cost the average family in Louisiana an extra $22,000.”

. . .

“The prices of consumer goods and in my state, on average, are up 20% since President Biden took office. Some are up a lot more, some are up a little less, but the average is 20%.

“Credit card debt is up 46%. The average credit card balance in Louisiana is now $5,800. When you're making $58,000 a year for a family of our, $5,800 is a lot. Delinquent credit card debt is up 11%, the highest in 12 years. We have had a record number of people who have had to take early withdrawals from their retirement accounts.”

. . .

“The average electricity bill in Louisiana is up 28% since President Biden took office. Gasoline in Louisiana: up 53%. Eggs: 69%. Bread: 28%. Coffee: 28%. Rice: 29%. Flour: 30%. Milk: 15%. Ice cream: 22%. Chicken per pound: 27%. If you're a mom and dad, and you’re both working, and you have maybe two car notes—certainly one car note—and a mortgage and two children, how can you afford this? You can’t!”

. . .

“It hurts, and it hurts deeply. President Biden’s inflation in my state is a cancer on the American dream. And it didn't have to be this way. We tried to tell him. We tried to tell him. Not only we—when I say many of my Republican colleagues—many of my Democratic friends did as well. Jason Furman, Economic Advisor to President Obama, I remember clearly, Dr. Furman—now at Harvard—said, ‘With all due respect, Mr. President, you spend this kind of money, you’re going to have inflation.’ And we did. And the worst part of this is that President Biden has no plan to get it down. None.”

Kennedy on Biden’s border executive order: “You can cut the hypocrisy with a knife.”

“President Biden is in trouble politically. He's polling right up there with fungal infections. Part of the reason for that is that he gave in to the loon wing of his party, and he dissolved the southern border. Now, five months before an election, he has to appear to be willing to do something about it. Hence, this executive order.”

Watch Kennedy’s full remarks here.

WASHINGTON – Sen. John Kennedy (R-La.) today joined colleagues to explain the why the Biden administration’s new executive order will not secure the southern border.

Key remarks from Kennedy are below.

“President Biden is in trouble politically. He's polling right up there with fungal infections. Part of the reason for that is that he gave in to the loon wing of his party, and he dissolved the southern border. Now—five months before an election—he has to appear to be willing to do something about it. Hence, this executive order.”

. . .

“For three years, we have watched President Biden push on a door that has been clearly marked ‘pull.’ He’s mismanaged Congress, Covid, the national debt, the economy, inflation, crime, Afghanistan, Iran, the war in Gaza, the war in Ukraine and now, of course, the border. And every time I think the president has hit rock bottom, he has managed to find a shovel and continue to dig. Hence, this executive order. And I think that's what the American people see.”

. . .

“The president's border policies have allowed 8 million people to come into our country illegally. . . . For three years, President Biden told us all, ‘There is no crisis at the southern border,’ for reasons clearly stated on the teleprompter. And his plan to deal with the crisis at the border was to pretend that there wasn't a crisis at the border.”

. . .

“When the American people figured that out . . . the Biden administration shifted strategy. It then said, ‘Well, we know there’s a crisis at the border, but we don't have any authority to fix it.’

“That didn’t work either, because the American people aren’t cell-deep stupid. So now, he has decided to tell you that he has been born again. He has had an epiphany. He is now a border hawk, and that’s what he wants you to report. Look, you can cut the hypocrisy with a knife.”

. . .

“This is one of the most cynical things that I have ever seen. . . . an attempt to do [this] five months before an election. It is insulting. It is cheap. It is contemptuous. The American people see that.”

Kennedy, Cassidy demand Biden admin withdraw rule that would transfer $147 billion in student debt to Louisiana taxpayers

“. . . taxpayers are being forced to take on the debt of nearly 28 million borrowers.”

WASHINGTON – Sen. John Kennedy (R-La.) joined Sen. Bill Cassidy (R-La.), Rep. Virginia Foxx (R-N.C.) and colleagues in urging the Biden administration’s Department of Education (DOE) to withdraw its proposed rule that would transfer an additional $147 billion in student loan debt to American taxpayers. If implemented, the rule would bring the total debt transferred to Americans to as much as $1 trillion.

In April, the DOE published its proposed rule, which would amend regulations in the Higher Education Act of 1965 to waive student loan debt for tens of millions of borrowers.

“The Biden administration describes this regulation as ‘targeted relief,’ yet the Department’s own estimates show the opposite. This is even broader than the Department’s first attempt: at an estimated price tag of $147 billion, taxpayers are being forced to take on the debt of nearly 28 million borrowers,” the lawmakers wrote.

“In addition to the fiscally irresponsible nature of this backdoor attempt to enact ‘free’ college, the administration continues to use borrowers as political pawns knowing full well these proposed actions are illegal. The Supreme Court [made] it abundantly clear that there is zero authority to write-off federal student loans en masse last June when the Department’s ‘Plan A’ was ruled unconstitutional,” they continued.

The lawmakers also raised concerns because the Biden administration dedicated resources to drafting a “Plan B” to cancel student loans for Americans who already attended college after “Plan A” failed in the Supreme Court, but it did not make the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) available to prospective college students.

“Failure to make the FAFSA available to these prospective students on time will have life-long consequences for many young Americans. We already know, as of March 29, FAFSA completion for seniors in high school is down by 40 percent. Those who do not file will likely not attend college next year and maybe never will,” they wrote.

The lawmakers concluded by urging the Biden administration to work with Congress to solve the higher education financing crisis.

Kennedy warns DOE Secretary Granholm that new rules will crush U.S. natural gas industry

MADISONVILLE, La. – Sen. John Kennedy (R-La.), Ranking member of the Senate Energy and Water Subcommittee on Appropriations, today sent a letter to Department of Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm, urging the department to not limit U.S. exports of liquified natural gas (LNG) through enforcing unnecessary burdens in the permitting process.

“. . . the Department of Energy, through new guidelines and rulemakings, will crush a burgeoning U.S. industry that employs tens of thousands of Americans, provides cheap and reliable energy to millions, and is a vital instrument in weening the world off of dirty Russian energy,” the senator wrote.

Kennedy raised concerns that any attempt by the Biden administration to implement additional rulemaking in the permitting process would arbitrarily limit the country’s ability to utilize natural gas resources and that such actions would be a mistake.

“The U.S. has a natural gas resource base that conservatively stands at close to 4,000 trillion cubic feet (Tcf) of natural gas. Let's put that resource to its best use to maintain our energy independence, to help our allies, to reduce emissions and to create good-paying jobs—instead of needlessly sidelining it,” Kennedy concluded.

Background:

  • Louisiana’s LNG export terminals account for 63% of all U.S. LNG exports.

  • The LNG industry employs 18,000 people in Louisiana.

  • LNG contributes $4.4 billion to Louisiana’s economy.

Kennedy explains how Biden’s open border helps cartels and terrorists: “This is insanity.”

“Today, President Joe Biden’s failed border policies have wreaked havoc in every single corner of the United States, including Louisiana.”

WASHINGTON – Sen. John Kennedy (R-La.), a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, today spoke on the Senate floor, warning the Biden administration that terrorists, cartel members and sex offenders are exploiting the chaos at the border to enter our country illegally.

Kennedy urged President Biden to work with conservatives to secure the border and address this ongoing national security threat.

Key comments from Kennedy include:

“You can cut the irony with a knife. After years of presenting themselves as ‘sanctuary cities,’ officials—many of them well intentioned—throughout the country learned in 2023 that the crisis at our border is not just a problem for southern states like Texas, Arizona and even my state. It’s an American crisis. Today, President Joe Biden’s failed border policies have wreaked havoc in every single corner of the United States, including Louisiana.

“According to one estimate, and it’s not the only estimate, but I think this is a very telling estimate—Louisianians pay an additional $4,613 an illegal migrant—that’s about $604 million per year—in state taxes because of illegal immigration. . . . That’s happening at a time when Louisiana families are also having to come out of pocket with an extra $800 per month to deal with inflation.”

. . .

“President Biden’s border policies are not just a human rights disaster, though they certainly are. But his policies have also provided the perfect cover for terrorist sympathizers, child sex offenders, for cartel associates to enter the United States illegally. All you have to do is mix in because nobody is checking anybody.

“The numbers that I’m about to give you will make you throw up. Border Patrol apprehended 169 members of the FBI’s terrorist watchlist attempting to cross the southern border illegally in 2023 alone. . . . That’s more than 10 times the number of potential terrorists that Border Patrol detained in the four years before President Biden took office.”

. . .

“We know what Mexico’s cartels have done. They have been exploiting our open border to terrorize Americans for years. Their weapon of choice is fentanyl. The cartels kill tens of thousands of U.S. citizens per year by working with China to flood our communities with fentanyl. That fentanyl comes from China, and it comes from Mexico. Louisiana lost more than 1,300 people—1,300 loved ones—to fentanyl poisoning in 2022 alone. The narco-terrorists flood our communities with poison and fill their coffers with as much as $1 billion per year.”

. . .

“These cartels, the members, they put migrants through hell as they march them across our southern border. Predators sexually assault an estimated four out of every five women. It’s unsurprising, then, many of the male migrants the cartels usher to the border are also known sex offenders. In just two months, Mr. President, Border Patrol agents in Texas caught 21 known child predators . . . attempting to enter the country illegally. Imagine how many we don’t know about. Border Patrol apprehended 284 sex offenders in fiscal year 2023 alone.”

“The American people see the southern border like they see the front door of their home. Most Americans lock their front door at night. They don't do that because they hate everybody on the outside. Most Americans lock their front door at night because they love the people on the inside, and they just want to know who's coming in and out of their home—and that's all the American people want in terms of immigration.”

Speaker Johnson forces CBS News anchor into embarrassing admission after she tries to smear him as an 'election denier'

House Speaker Mike Johnson (R) thoroughly dismantled on Sunday CBS News anchor Margaret Brennan for attempting to paint him as an "election denier."

In the aftermath of the 2020 election, Johnson — and the majority of the House Republican caucus at the time — signed an amicus brief supporting Texas v. Pennsylvania, a lawsuit filed to the Supreme Court. The case alleged that Pennsylvania, Georgia, Michigan, and Wisconsin had violated the Constitution because those states changed their election procedures (citing the COVID-19 pandemic as justification) through non-state legislative means.

The Supreme Court ultimately dismissed the case after finding that Texas did not have standing to sue.

But in an interview Sunday on CBS's "Face the Nation," Brennan tried to use Johnson's support for the case to smear him as an "election denier."

Kennedy in The Ouachita Citizen: To raise real wages, President Biden’s New Year’s Resolution should be to rein in federal spending

“To fix a problem, you have to get to the source, and Washington’s spending spree caused this inflation.”

MADISONVILLE, La. – Sen. John Kennedy (R-La.) penned this op-ed in The Ouachita Citizen explaining how Washington’s out-of-control spending helped fuel inflation that far outpaced real wage growth during the past two-and-a-half years. Kennedy urges President Joe Biden to work with fiscal conservatives to regain control of federal government spending in the new year.

Key excerpts from Kennedy’s op-ed include:

“If recent polling is any indication, the American people are hoping President Biden’s New Year’s resolution will be to stop promoting bad policies that drive up prices and lower their quality of life.

“Some at the White House, however, believe the American people have nothing to complain about. For the last part of 2023, President Biden’s team has been wielding cherry-picked statistics about gross domestic product (GDP) growth or job numbers hoping to convince Americans not to believe their ‘lying eyes’—or their empty wallets. The Biden administration seems to think that if they celebrate ‘Bidenomics’ as if it were good policy, the American people will join the party.

“Unfortunately for President Biden, Americans may be poorer under his tenure, but they can still afford to pay attention. They’ve watched prices climb for two-and-a-half years, and they know wages aren’t keeping up.”

. . .

“Families deserve the full truth about the economy, and here it is: Most of these high prices are here to stay. The rate of inflation has slowed down—and that’s good news—but all that means is that prices aren’t rising quite as quickly as they did last year.

“To fix a problem, you have to get to the source, and Washington’s spending spree caused this inflation.”

. . .

“As January approaches, the Biden administration should make a simple New Year’s resolution: Work with fiscal conservatives in Congress to cut spending. That’s the only way working Americans will get consistent relief from the pain of rising prices.”
